SUMMARY
The Cam Caddie Scorpion EX Pro Kit pairs a versatile camera handle and stabilizer with an accessory bundle that allows you to build-up and configure the support system in numerous ways. The kit includes the Scorpion EX, Scorpion EX Cheese Plate/Tripod mount, two additional Accessory Shoes, Accessory Wing, 1/4"-20 Flashner/Converter, two Mounting Knobs, and one Lockout Kit.
The Cam Caddie Scorpion EX is a versatile universal camera handle and stabilizer that allows you to maneuver compact cameras such as DSLRs, point-and-shoots, and action cameras the same way as you would a traditional video camcorder. The ergonomic handle is constructed from a lightweight composite and a custom formulated polymer grip, providing a stable and solid platform to comfortably hold and maneuver the camera. You can even mount a DSLR camera perpendicular to the top handle, which positions the back portion of the handle on the side of your camera for two-handed shooting.
For shoulder-mounted shooting, the feet of the Scorpion EX have standard 1/4"-20 threading, allowing you to attach the included cheese plate. The cheese plate facilitates mounting to the tripods and the optional Scorpion EX Shoulder Support. Two Accessory Shoes are included that attach to the handle, allowing you to mount accessories such as a recorder, microphone, LED light, or external monitor. Additional Accessory Shoes are available separately to expand the system further.
The Accessory Wing is a 10" flat bar that is used with the Accessory Shoe to offer extra spacing on the camera support for mounting camera accessories or used with the Mounting Screw to connect to the base of the Scorpion. It can be mounted onto any 1/4"-20 thread or a tripod top plate to attach multiple accessories. You can also attach the wing directly to your camera's hot shoe using the the 1/4"-20 Flashner/Converter. The Flashner/Converter is also suitable for attaching any accessory with a 1/4"-20 threaded hole directly to a Scorpion Accessory Shoe or Accessory Wing. The included 1/4"-20 threaded mounting knobs/screws are used to attach the camera to the base of the Scorpion or an Accessory Wing to the base of the Scorpion.
When shooting with heavier cameras and configurations, the Lockout Kit creates a solid platform that helps eliminates the dampening effect that is designed into the Scorpion EX. This is achieved by connecting the camera's built-in hot shoe with the bottom side of the Scorpion handle. This eliminates the dampening action and allows you to attach multiple heavy accessories for a variety of configurations. Primarily designed to work with DSLRs, the Lockout Kit also works with many video cameras.

Scorpion Accessory Shoe
The Scorpion Accessory Shoe from Cam Caddie is a removable cold shoe adapter designed to attach any video accessory with a standard ISO shoe mount to the Scorpion video supports. The adapter is constructed from a composite plastic and uses a basic clamp to tighten onto the Scorpion handle. The shoe itself is constructed from anodized aluminum alloy, making it extremely durable, and can be mounted in two orientations. Multiple accessory shoes can be mounted at once allowing for the simultaneous use of microphones, LED lights, LCD screens, and more. Cam Caddie products are made in the USA.
Scorpion Accessory Wing
The Scorpion Accessory Wing from Cam Caddie is a 10" aluminum accessory bar designed to accept most standard hot or cold shoe mount accessories. The bar's width allows the user to add monitors, lights, microphones, and other accessories to an existing Scorpion, video rig, tripod, or directly to the camera's hot shoe with a shoe mount adapter.
The bar also features an adjustable 1/4"-20 threaded plate which may be repositioned to offset the weight or size of an accessory. For those looking to mount the Accessory Wing to the top handle of their Scorpion rig, the Scorpion Accessory Shoe may be used in conjunction with the Accessory Wing for seamless compatibility.
Scorpion EX Cheese Plate
The Scorpion EX Cheese Plate from Cam Caddie allows you to mount a Scorpion EX camera stabilizer directly onto a tripod or similar support. It enables the user to easily switch from handheld shooting to tripod-mounted videography without making any adjustments to the setup. Equipped with twenty-one 1/4"-20 and nine 3/8"-16 mounting threads, it also has the ability to be used as a DSLR cage for attachment of camera accessories such as lights, microphones, monitors, lavalier receivers, XLR input boxes, and more.
1/4"-20 Flashner (Green)
The green 1/4"-20 Flashner from Cam Caddie converts a standard 1/4"-20 tripod mount to a flash shoe. Attach any accessory that has a tripod mount directly to the Scorpion Accessory Shoe, Accessory Wing, or camera. The 1/4"-20 Flashner also works in combination with the Flashner kits ensuring you can mount everything you need for your next shoot.
Scorpion Lockout Kit for Scorpion and Scorpion EX Rigs
The Scorpion Lockout Kit from Cam Caddie is designed to remove the natural dampening effect of the Scorpion rig and create a solid platform for heavier cameras and accessory configurations. This process is achieved by connecting the camera's built-in flash shoe with the bottom side of the Scorpion handle via the use of all three kit components. The stability achieved allows the user to mount multiple heavy accessories to the Scorpion—or mount a heavier camera body without the risk of the Scorpion rig flexing under additional strain. Although primarily designed to work with DSLRs, the Lockout Kit also works with many camcorders.
