Celestron's Cometron 114mm f/4 Reflector Telescope makes an ideal entry-level instrument that is well-suited for making detailed observations of the Moon and planets, and bright deep-sky objects like star clusters, binary systems, and nebulae. The large aperture primary mirror and relatively short focal length produce a fast focal ratio that increases sharpness, widens the overall field of view, and allows for shorter exposure times for astrophotography.
Supporting the optical tube is a basic manual alt-az mount outfitted with a locking control handle to make finding and tracking objects easier with reduced vibrations, and an adjustable-height stainless steel tripod. This observation kit comes complete with two eyepieces that provide 22.5x and 45x magnifications, and an unmagnified red-dot finder to make locating objects easier and performing star-hopping navigation faster.
