Have you ever wondered how photographers capture those beautiful star trails, gorgeous arcs of light drawn against the sky as the stars appear to move due to the Earth's rotation?
Amateur astrophotographer, Justin Starr, will help you choose the appropriate settings for your camera and lens in order to make such an image.

First, participants will go to Sunken Meadow State Park to capture at least an hour and a half of exposures of star revolutions. Then Justin will show you how to compile your star trail images and process your planetary images using free software and edit them in photo-editing software.

Students will need: Day 1: A camera A camera lens - anything in the 12-35mm range is preferable A memory card or 2 (depending on size) An Intervalometer (and batteries) Tripod
Day 2: Laptop Software StarStax (for processing star trails photos) Some type of photo editing software (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc)--
