This is a beginner three week course that will introduce the student to the basic concepts of your camera. No prior photography knowledge is required.
The three week course will give the students a thorough working knowledge of their camera. Topics are to include but are not limited to: exposure, apertures, shutter speeds, white balance, ISO, file size and type. Composition and post processing techniques will be introduced.
Week One:
Topics to be discussed include: General overview for all cameras. File size and type, ISO, aperture, shutter speeds. A hands-on exercise will be conducted, covering aperture and depth of field. Exposure modes, program, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual modes will also be explained.
Week Two:
Hands-on exercises involving shutter speeds. Stop action, slow shutter speeds to show movement, panning.
Week Three:
Students will participate in a hands-on exercise that will teach them how to create a custom white balance. Students will also be introduced to photographing with the built in flash in their cameras. Students are introduced to metering modes and exposure compensation.
