The Tokina Hydrophilic Coating Protector Filter is a clear filter designed to completely prevent water from beading on its front surface when photographing or recording under rain or other wet conditions. Its top hydrophilic coating evenly repels moisture, but creates no additional coloration or contrast, and adjustments to exposure are not required while using this filter. A photocatalyst layer between the hydrophilic coating and the underlying glass provides the ability to restore the hydrophilic coating's effect after it comes into significant contact with moisture. This is accomplished by exposing the front of the filter to ultraviolet light for four hours or sunlight for eight hours under dry conditions. Aside from moisture, scratches and other elements are prevented from reaching or damaging a lens while the Tokina 95mm Hydrophilic Coating Protector Filter is in use.
This filter is constructed from hardened optical glass for durability, clarity, and color fidelity. A thin filter ring is also featured to minimize the potential for vignetting.
