This 95mm DHG ND-100000 Solid ND5.0 Solar Eclipse Filter from Marumi is a 16.5-stop neutral density filter designed to make solar eclipse photography safe. It has a filter factor of 100,000 and darkens the entire image area while shooting still or video images. It can also be used as a general application neutral density filter, providing finer control over shutter speed and apertures. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase blur to convey a sense of movement, or to dial in a video camera frame rate. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background and increasing bokeh.
This filter is made of K9 optical glass, and features multicoating in each filter surface for optimal light transmission. The filter ring is made of aluminum, and has a stylish black satin finish.
This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.
For Solar Photography, Not Safe for Direct Viewing of the Sun
